About Skandagiri

Skandagiri, also called Kalavara Durga, is a popular pre-dawn trek close to Nandi Hills. The trail climbs through scrub and granite to old fort ruins and a small temple at the top, where the sunrise often breaks over a blanket of cloud. Treks are regulated by the forest department and usually need advance booking.
